Sumday privacy policy
This policy describes the native iPhone and Android versions of Sumday, published by Andrew Beckerman.
Data collection
Sumday does not collect or transmit personal data to its developer. It contains no advertising, tracking, analytics, account registration, or in-app purchases.
Progress stays on your device
Puzzle progress, practice progress, hint counts, completed puzzle dates, and onboarding preferences are stored locally on your device. On iPhone, they may be included in device backups according to your Apple settings. The Android app disables cloud backup and excludes game preferences from Android backup and device transfer. Sumday does not operate a game server or its own cloud-sync service.
Sharing a result
If you choose to share a result, your device’s share sheet lets you choose its destination. The text contains the puzzle date or practice number, a completion pattern, and the number of hints used. The receiving app or service handles that shared text under its own policies.
Removing your data
On iPhone, Delete App removes local data; offloading may preserve it, and backup retention depends on your Apple settings. On Android, uninstalling the app or clearing its storage removes local game progress.
Website and support
This policy describes the app. Visiting a hosted support page or sending a support email also involves your browser, email provider, and the website’s hosting provider. Their handling of routine connection information is separate from the app’s offline storage.
Changes
This policy will be updated if Sumday’s data practices change.
